Murmur is local-first. The app does not send your speech, transcripts, or audio to Canopy Studio servers.

Local processing

Speech recognition runs on your Mac with OpenAI Whisper. No cloud transcription APIs are used.

Local storage

Murmur stores data only on your Mac: settings (~/.murmur_config.json), transcription history (~/.murmur_history.json), and optional audio files (~/.murmur_audio/) when retention is enabled.

Your controls

In Murmur Settings you can disable saving history or audio, and delete all local Murmur data with one action.

This website

These Murmur pages are static marketing content. They do not collect Murmur app usage data.
